Final Exam: My Sophmore Year

  I am going to be writing about my sophomore year. This year has had its good and bad times for me. I remember the happy and good times but I also remember the bad and stressful times. This year has been very stressful for me I have had to work really hard to pass my classes. I have been strong and believing that I can do it and now I am on the right track to graduate. My parents are always telling me to try harder. That’s why they brought me to this country to get an education and have a good life. My father works everyday and only gets one day off at work. So whenever I am not doing well in school he gets frustrated. He tells me that he works for me to put a roof over my head and feed me, and what I do to repay him is slack in school that’s not right. After he told me that I knew that he was right so I am now starting to try harder in my sophomore year.


  The beginning of this year was pretty hard for me. I was in the middle of switching schools. My mother moved me schools because I failed my freshman year. So I ended up here. I also was in the middle of moving houses. That was another reason that my mom moved me schools. I was in brand new neighborhood and I didn’t know anybody up there. The only person that I knew was my cousin. Thanks to him I got to make new friends and some that even come to this school. Now I wouldn’t be so lonely anymore. I started going to school it wasn’t that bad I started off as a freshman because as I said I failed all of last year. Everything was going well until the counselors called me and said that they were going to move me up to the tenth grade. That really messed me up.

  When I heard the counselor tell me that they needed to move me up to the 10th grade I was excited because most of the friends that I knew were tenth graders. But then the counselor also told me that I would have to make up the credits that I needed on my own time. That was bad news. I was really upset because I was doing fine in the freshman building and retaking all the classes that I failed and then they just move me up to the tenth graders. I joined them 3 weeks into the school year. So the other bad thing now was that I was now really behind. I caught up a bit and I remembered that I still needed to make all those credits so I went to go see the counselor. She told me that they were offering credit recovery that was perfect. The good thing about it was that they had two classes to offer and they were both free. I ended up taking both of them.

  By Christmas break I was really stressed out and tired. I had taken both credit recovery classes and passed them I also passed most of my regular classes. I was tired because I would go to school every day from 7am to 5pm. That’s like about 10 hours. My mom felt bad for me being all day at school but that’s what I get for slacking and knowing that I could’ve passed the class the first time. Now it wasn’t over for me yet I still had to take credit recovery again for the next semester. I took the classes and I also passed those. It has been really hard staying after school and making up my credits. But I always just tell myself IT WILL BE WORTH IT.

  Well this is my last paragraph of the year. It’s been a good year. It has been a lot of hard work for me but I did it I made it through the whole year, I struggled but I did it. I think that I really grew up I still slack once in a while but not as much as I used to. I am looking forward to graduating on time. My counselor told me that if I keep on working hard and if I believe than I can do it. I am now taking summer school classes to make up my remaining credits. My teacher is Mr.Leh I’m not sure if I spelled it right but yea he is the best English teacher I have had. I learned and will learn more from him hopefully I have him as a teacher next year to I like learning from him and he Is a fun teacher. Well that’s all I got Thanks Mr for teaching me what I know and see you in summer school ha-ha.

Twilghit #3

I have seen the second movie from the twilight series. I thought it was ok the only parts that I didn’t like were all the talking and romantic parts. The action parts were pretty cool. I only liked three parts of the movie. One of them was when the wolf’s attacked the bad vampire. Also I liked the part when the wolf’s fight against each other. The last one was when the wolf and the vampire wanted to fight. I thought it was a bad ending because they didn’t fight.






If I had the ability to make a whole new episode, they would have to rate the movie R. Just because of all of the violence that would be in it. Well my movie would start off with the Edward and his girlfriend living together. Jacob and his wolfs are outraged because the girl went with the vampires and not the wolf’s. The wolves and the vampires already didn’t like each other. So this made it even worse for the wolves. The wolf’s and the vampires have an agreement that no vampire should enter their land. Now the wolves are just going to kill any vampire that they see near them, instead of warning them, because the girl left the wolves for the vampires. Not all vampires are good. The only good ones are Edwards’s family. So if the wolfs were to fight a bad vampire then the fight would be good. The wolves are bigger than the vampires but the vampires are fast and stronger. I didn’t say that they are faster because they both have about the same speed. The vampires are good at disappearing and popping out of knower. The wolves are good at shape shifting and smelling. The reason the vampires can’t ambush or secretly attack a wolf is because they smell them from about a mile away. Sometimes if the wolfs sense the vampires in time they get in a pack and wait for them. So instead of the vampires sneak attacking the wolves, the wolves will be prepared to fight the vampires.

Bravery

There hasn’t been a really good major time for me to be brave. The only times that i have been a little brave were just minor times. There was this one time when my family was having a little birthday party for my little cousin. It was almost time for the piñata. The way me family does it is one person goes on the roof and another person gets on the neighbors roof. We tie a rope through the piñata, each person gets an end of the rope to pull it up and make it hard for the children to hit it. Well any ways they only had one person to get on one roof and they needed one more to get on the other one. They asked me if I could but I didn’t give them a quick answer that’s because I am afraid of heights. And getting on the roof wasn’t so good for me. If somebody that didn’t really know me asked me to do it I wouldn’t have done it. But I did it for my little cousin. I had a lot of butterflies in my stomach when I seen my uncle bring out the ladder. He set it up and it was time to start climbing. So I just took a deep breath and started to climb. It seemed like forever. as I got higher and higher I felt more and more nervous. I was almost at the top there was no turning back. I got on the roof and I sat on the edge. I wouldn’t look down I just looked straight ahead. They were calling me so they could throw up the rope and so I could catch it. I had to look down. So once again I took a deep breath and went for it. I finally looked down it wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be but it still was really high. They threw up the rope and I got it. All of the kids were coming out and getting ready to hit the piñata. At this point I was pretty chill. A kid started to hit the piñata and my uncle and I started to tug on the rope so he would be able to hit it. On one of the tugs my uncle kind of pulled me to that was probably one of the scariest moments of my life. Luckily the roof was made out of kind of like sand paper. The grip stuck onto my shoes and my pants. So my uncles roof had saved me from a about a 10ft drop. Because of the scare I had let go of the rope. And everybody was looking at me. I just calmed down and said I was okay and to throw the rope back up. They asked me if I was sure that I could come off if I wanted to. But I told them no that I could do it. So they threw it back up and all of the children had fun hitting it. Now it was time for me to get off things couldn’t get any worse. Then when I was climbing down the ladder I did something dumb. I was only three fourths down the ladder and then I jumped off. Dang was that cool I thought I was going fall and hurt myself but I landed perfectly. I had done it I went on the roof and beat my fear for a while. Am still scared of heights but I think what I did was pretty brave. My Story

It was a very long journey for me and my mother to get here in the United States. My mom was on her way over here in search for a better life. But mostly it was a better life for me. It was alot of trouble but we made it. My mom talked to me about how we got here last year. She siad that it took us about three or four times for us to get here. Back in those days it was pretty easy to get here. If you got caught they would just take you back. Now its a whole diffrent story. All just because of terrorism. Well anyways. The first time my mom tried to cross the border was with my uncle. She was really nervous but she knew it was for a good cause. We had to cross the river. My uncle put me over his shoulders. And oh yea i was only 1year old while this was happening. We were almost to the other side of the river. Then a couple of white trucks, with green stripes on the side of it, yea it was the border patrol. There was nothing we could do it was either turn back around or get a ride from immagration. So we chose to get a ride.The second attempt was ruined by me. I laughed at that when my mother told me. Well anyways we were traveling with a group of people. We went over a couple of tall hills. The border was in sight distance. All of the sudden we see the border patrol truckws driving by. Everyone got down so they wouldnt see us. they drove away. We kept on walking then out of nowere we herd the trucks again.

Change

I choose to sing the dream act petition. I singed that petition because I think everybody should get a chance to college even the minorities. I dont get why they would charge the minorities for college if we are the people that cant afford it

The Moral of The Starfish Story

The moral of the starfish story is the little things that you do can make a big change. I think the person that wrote this story is very intelligent. I say that because I think that he is write. You may think you can’t do much when you are trying to save something big. But by doing the little things you do to try and save it. You have a better chance in accomplishing what you are trying to do. So I think when you think you can’t do anything you should at least try and maybe you will be successful.

The Great Debaters

I thought that this movie was okay. I think it could have been better if it had more action. It had some pretty emotional scenes. The scene that I thought was the most graphic and emotional was the part when they lynched the negro. Another part that was not cool was the part when the black guy ran over the pig. Then the White guys made him pay for it. He gave them a check and then the white guys threw to the ground and made him pick it up again. I give this movie a 31/2 out of 5. Just because of the lack of action.

This painting is by Diego Rivera. This picture shows me a hard worker. I think that this man is most likely a Mexican I say that because Mexicans are usually the people that do the hard work. This man is probably trying to make some money to feed his family.

The New Colossus

This Poem is pretty good but not true. This country is not excepting anybody and leting them live freely. If this poem was true then there wouldnt be a big ass wall between here and mexico. We do all the hard work around here. All the Americans do is boss us around, the least they could do is respect us and give us some freedom....... Why are people fight in the picture above? The statue is right there! Representing "Freedom and Peace". But that tells you its all just BS. 

I think the staue just lost all of its meaning because of immigration.

Social Literacy

I wanted to take action on the global warming topic to help out the polar bears in the arctic. So I went to the link below and added my signiture with all the other thousands that also want to help out the polar bears Global Warming is the rising of tempertures because of all of the green house gasses. Because of the rising tempertures all of the ice in the artic is melting. The bears have to swim days and days because there is no ice that they can rest on.
